Welcome to the home of Australian Rules Football in Minnesota
The Minnesota Freeze was established in 1999 with a handful of Aussie enthusiasts who dreamed of bringing their love for the Australian game to Minnesota to compete against a handful of other teams springing up across the country. 20 years later, the Minnesota Freeze has become one of the largest clubs in the United States Australian Football League, containing both a men’s and women’s team.
The club continues to spread a love of the game across the Midwest and is always seeking new members to discover what makes “Aussie Rules” a unique sports experience. We welcome all new players regardless of skill level and our teams do not require tryouts to play. We teach new recruits how to play the sport and speak the lingo. You’ll be able to “take a mark” in no time.
As a member of the USAFL, the Minnesota Freeze Australian Rules Football Club embraces a mission of developing the game through local training sessions and by providing metro/local games, regional games, and participation in the annual USAFL National Championships held in the United States. We also support members seeking to play on the National level teams: the Revolution, Freedom, and Liberty.
In support of our mission to develop footy at a grassroots level, we also run Auskick at many training sessions to teach the sport to youth participants, and we're more than happy to teach anyone else how to play, as well.
The Minnesota Freeze Australian Rules Football Club, is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. We are volunteer based and funded by club members along with help from sponsors. In addition to setting an example as athletes on the field, the Minnesota Freeze gives back to their communities through local charities and organizations.
